02 October 2017 - Week 3 round up,
19 wins from 21!!!
19 wins from 21!!!
What a weekend- Hucclecote teams competed in 21 matches, winning 19 with the only 2 losses when they played each other!
One of those was the Local prem div clash between Hurricanes & Lightning. It was a really competitive match which Hurricanes only began to dominate in the 2nd half.
The height advantage of Eve Wright in the shooting circle played a big part in Hurricanes win, though the defence of Abi Tucker & Grace Cappell worked tirelessly to interrupt the flow of ball.
Hurricanes ran out winners 54-31 by the final whistle.
Storm in Div2 had a really good win over a strong experienced Challengers team. The defence duo of Hannah Howl & Ellie Gabriel were outstanding keeping Storm in the game. The final score of 44-38 reflects how close the match was.
In their first Regional 2 game of the season, Comets under new coach Kate Mears, won a hard fought physical encounter over Mavericks 49-41. This was virtually a completely new squad & apart from Capt ELAINE Creater, the average age on court was about 17!
Regional Stars in Div 1 on Sunday had a convincing win over Almonsbury 57-35.
Once again this is an almost totally new squad, who like Comets, demonstrate great potential going forward.
Also on Sunday the 3 U16 squads had an awesome day competing in the county seeding tournament.
Dragons were unbeaten all day, Panthers winning all their
Games bar the one against Dragons & Pumas, finishing 3rd to secure a place in Div 1 of the Glos U16 league.
Both Dragons & Panthers go forward to the regional seeding tournament in 2 weeks time. All in all an incredible weekend of netball from all Hucclecote teams.
