10 December 2017 - Round up
Against all the odds with
Against all the odds with more than 16 players unavailable we still managed to get 4 squads out on Saturday, winning 3!
Hurricanes down to a bare 7 random players, ground out a narrow 4 goal win against Survivors.
The match was strewn with errors, particularly in attack where Hurricanes squandered possession. When the ball did find the shooters, conversion rate was high, only missing 5 shots over the match. It was the defence end that really kept Hurricanes in front with Michelle Easterbrook & Ellie Gabriel taking numerous rebounds & intercepts. This result means Hurricanes finish the first half of the season on top of the Premier league.
Player of the match - Ellie Gabriel
Lightning had a much more comfortable win over Stroud - 61-32
All 3 shooters were on form converting 61/78 between them. Abi Tucker & Grace Cappell in defence worked tirelessly to cut out the ball to a much taller GS, gaining them joint player of the match.
Storm, made a dreadful start going down 4-17 to top of the table Old Chelts in the first q.
From then on, they rallied & won the next 2 q`s closing the deficit to only 6 by 3/4 time. The final result of 34-41 was a fantastic fightback, in a game that could have been won!
Player of the match Emily Lane & Issy Farrel
