04 February 2018 - Rounder up
What a great day- a
What a great day- a clean sweep of results with all 3 teams winning.
First game of the day Storm v Nomads in Div1.  Storm were determined to over turn results of the last 2 weeks where matches were lost by 1 goal.
They started well going into an early lead with solid shooting from Nadine Baird, Georgie Palmer & Sam Taylor
Each q Storm extended their lead & with Alice Bradley & Connie Trendle turning ball at the other end, the shooters were kept well supplied.
The final result 49-24 was a reflection of Storms dominance throughout the court.
Player of the match Issy & Alice
Undoubtedly the match of the day was Lightning’s win over Challengers 37-32.
With a number of key players missing, it was a super team performance. The combination of Lucy Martin & Pollyanna Banyard in the shooting circle was untried & took time to settle. With Lucy taking on most of the shooting & Polly the playmaker role, it proved to be successful with scores level at half time.
Abi Tucker & Ellie Gabriel worked well together, turning ball & rebounding any missed shot.
Mid court, all players worked tirelessly to keep possession under great pressure by the oppositions tight marking.
Going into the final q 3 goals down  it was going to be a battle till the final whistle. However Lightning just changed gear, and with Lucy netting 15/16 they took the q 16 goals to 8!
It’s really difficult to single out a player of the match but Lucy Martin in only her 2nd match of the season, converting 35/41 just edged it.
Hurricanes totally outplayed BC Saints in a fast paced match which ended 76-27.
All 3 shooters were on form with a high % of shots converted.
Ella Langford gained Player of the match for her work rate & turnovers at GD & Michelle Dowle for netting 33/37 of her shots closely followed by Nic Jennings 30/32.
These results consolidated Hurricanes at the top of the Prem division & Lightning move into 2nd spot!
